A Poem for Palu

Dreadful Dusk

There's been an earthquake
Silent as a whistle
Still as death
Many failed to perceived it
And run out of it

Then there came a wave like a great hand
Grabbing everything on the land
It's fingers of foam, circling around
Uprooting trees, razing homes to the ground

Nothing could survive this dreadful dusk
People ran in and out in time with the tide
Nowhere to go and nowhere to hide
Only a prayer is spoken in heart
If God could show any blessings in disguise
